Cool Shooting Games in Your Browser
Shooting games essentially come in two categories. You have got those million dollar productions you will find on home gaming consoles where you play through a ten hour story and shoot it out with other people from around the world in co-op, and you have got cool shooters that you can just pick up and play.
There's a lot to be said for those in-depth, sixteen player combat simulators, but sometimes you just don't have time for them, you don't need a game to try and tell you some epic story before ever letting you play around with an AK47. Sometimes you just want to grab a gun and shoot some badguys. Well, that's what browser based shooting games are for. They let you jump right into the action. The best browser based shooters are pretty intuitive, asking only that you know how to point and click a mouse. Nevertheless, the visceral satisfaction of pulling the trigger and blowing baddies to smithereens is just as much fun in an internet browser window with a mouse in hand as it is on a big screen TV with an eight button controller. Some shooters you'll find on the web are more throwbacks to the games many of us grew up with, those space shooters we played in the arcades as pre-teens. Others play like the PC games we enjoyed in the early nineties. Browser based shooters come in all styles, so find a couple you like and kill a little time the next time you're feeling bored.
